Fine Art Photography Care & Handling
A Sanchez Photo
Cleaning Your Mounted Fine Art Photograph
Extreme care should be taken when cleaning the surface of your fine art photograph. When necessary, gently dust the glazing using a soft, slightly damp microfiber cloth or chamois. Apply only light pressure, rinse the cloth with clean water, and dry the surface by blotting.
Avoid dry, abrasive, or gritty cloths, as these may scratch the surface or create static electricity. Do not use window cleaners, household cleaning sprays, scouring compounds, or solvents such as acetone, gasoline, or lacquer thinner, as these products may cause permanent and irreversible damage to the artwork.
Cleaning the Frame
Use a soft, dry cloth to remove dust or debris.
For metal or minimalist frames, a high quality microfiber cloth may be used with very light pressure. If needed, slightly dampen the cloth with clean water and dry immediately by blotting. Avoid liquid cleaners, chemical products, or polishing agents, as these may damage the finish over time. To remove dust from liners or inner frame edges, we recommend using compressed air, ensuring that no moisture is released during the process.
Lighting Your Artwork
Proper lighting enhances the depth and texture of fine art photography. A combination of spot lighting and soft spread lighting is recommended. The beam spread should be adjusted according to the distance between the light source and the artwork.
While multiple lighting options are suitable, it is advisable to consult with a lighting professional or electrician to achieve the correct balance and avoid excessive heat or glare.
Environmental Conditions
Each artwork is produced using advanced printing technology and archival materials. While protective measures are incorporated, proper environmental conditions are essential for long term preservation.
We recommend:
-
Avoiding direct sunlight
-
Avoiding high humidity environments
-
Avoiding exposure to high temperatures
Temperatures above 75°F (24°C), prolonged direct sunlight, or humidity levels above approximately 60% may cause damage, including fading, surface deformation, or bubbling of mounted materials.
Care Commitment
With proper care, your A Sanchez Photo artwork is designed to maintain its beauty and integrity for many years. If you have any questions regarding installation, care, or placement, we are always happy to assist.
